Every design project exists to provide solutions to one or more pressing problems, while simultaneously staying within established limits or constraints. While the main limits typically imposed on a design project tend to be financial and functional, it is important to recognize that there are other important constraints as well. These additional constraints may include legal requirements, aesthetic design requirements, and environmental concerns.

At Rehbein Environmental Solutions, we focus on unique combinations of technology to solve multiple problems simultaneously, while staying within project constraints. Our diverse and unique products, including subsurface irrigation, stormwater collection and treatment, multi-use surfaces, and green roofing systems are all able to be implemented together in a variety of applications, realizing multiple benefits.

For example, by combining the use of permeable pavers, reflex mesh elements and EPIC, we have designed a solution for a car dealership which:

  • Eliminated the need for the construction of a stormwater detention pond
  • Created parking spaces for additional inventory
  • Integrated more green space into the dealership
  • Allowed the re-use of stormwater runoff in irrigation
  • Reduced contaminants which would have otherwise run off the lot
